POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
A postdoctoral position is available for studies on host-pathogen interactions of influenza virus in its natural avian host in the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada. The successful candidate will employ a variety of genomics and molecular biology approaches to study the genes and proteins involved in host immune responses to influenza and the application of this knowledge for development of therapeutics and vaccines. Applicants should have a PhD in immunology, virology or related discipline (obtained not more than 3 years ago), and publications in English. Highly motivated candidates with demonstrable skills in molecular biology, a strong background in immunology, virology or biochemistry are encouraged to apply. The candidate will benefit from interactions with strong research groups in comparative immunology, and virology and immunology on campus.
