E-Board No. 80
June 1, 2009. XI Congress Information, talks and posters
Dear ISDCI members,
Soon we will meet in Prague for our upcoming 11th Congress. To date, we have ~370 registered participants and ~320 abstracts, so it indeed looks to become a very exciting and interesting meeting.
All submitted abstracts have been accepted for the 11th ISDCI Congress and will be presented either as posters or as contributed oral talks. We will do everything possible to give all who wish to present an oral talk that opportunity. Time allotments for contributed talks will be a maximum of 20 minutes which should include 3-4 minutes for questions. Consequently, please prepare your talks for 16-17 minutes, and not more. There will be several parallel sessions, which means that talks must be kept strictly to time and chairpersons will be requested to stick firmly to the schedule. The time for keynote speakers will be 30 minutes which includes 3-4 minutes for questions.
I would like to inform all students that we will have a few awards for the best poster and oral presentation. To be eligible, students must be first author on the poster or must present the talk. To distinguish student posters that are in the competition from other posters, student posters must have a small mark, which will be provided by the Congress administrators. Oral presentations by students that are in the competition will be publically announced by the responsible session chairperson. The winners will be announced during the banquet.
Preparation of Posters for the 11th ISDCI Congress:
The information on poster board sizes is available in the last paragraph of the web site in the Scientific Programme link (http://www.congressprague.cz/en/kongresy/isdci2009/odborny-program.html).
The size of the workspace for placing the posters at the site of the congress: 180 cm (height) and 98 cm (width), bottom material: white lamino, installation with Velcro fasteners, which will be provided by the Congress organizers. Poster presentations will be labeled with numbers in sequence in accordance with the poster overview in the scientific programme.
I look forward to see you in Prague.
