Systematics and Phylogenetic Analyses using Large Data Sets

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Department of Biological Sciences at the George Washington University in Washington DC. The successful candidate will be doing empirical investigations of the systematics and phylogeny of organisms. The applicant must have experience with phylogenetic analyses of large data sets (i.e., more than 25 taxa or sequences), and will assist in organizing a series of workshops on large data sets in phylogenetic reconstruction of organisms or genes.

A completed PhD and experience in systematics and phylogeny is required. A background in an area of research related to those of current faculty members in the department (www.gwu.edu/~biology/fss.html) and an interest in computational methods is helpful but not required. Salary starts at $40,000 including benefits with merit increases scheduled yearly. Start date is negotiable but should begin as soon as possible. Funding is for 2 Years.
